Interesting & not ideal, but if it saves the club and we end up with an 9,000 capacity stadium in central Darlo, then all the best to him.

This must be a joke?!
The report is misleading too - his "reign" didn't really end in Feb 2009; George Houghton was in 50/50 with Singh when Singh became chairman.
And Singh was a 10% share holder before the 2009 admin.
Basically they've both shafted the club, the fans, the town & any creditors twice in 3 years.
Welcome back Mr. Houghton, ffs.

Do you guys even grasp that we need someone regardless of who is in charge and to say you wont step into the ground for that reason speaks volumes of our poor support over the last few years...... Not picking you out just generalising with a percentage of "stayawayers" over the years.

Was going to say the same thing myself. Same old vultures, just checking that they haven't left any tasty morsels after the first visit.
Club should fold and start again from scratch without the parasites

Any port in a storm, unfortunately this football club looks like the Costa Concordia with Singh being the Italian captain. George H is head of the salvage team who will cut the carcase up for scrap and feast on the entrails. Can I just reiterate that all our fans efforts to raise funds should not be wasted and that dosh in the Trust be invested in a fans as shareholders phoenix club, playing back at Feethams. I cannot bear the thought of stuffing the pockets of the administrators (he is aptly named as a Mad Un) and the Rachman-like landlords Scott & Sizer. (For younger readers Rachman was an objectionable slum landlord in the 1960's who put extortional demands on tenants)

Your club HAS to survive. It is only right. As a football fan, OK I support Hartlepool, but your club's situation is something I thought I would ever ever see.

I listen to Craig Liddle and Ray Simpson on BBC Tees. Craig is a "man-mountain". Has attitude, will-to-win, desire etc in the face of adversity is absolutely to be admired. He'd been sacked yesterday, and he vowed to continue. He deserves the highest accolades imaginable, the freedom of Darlington almost certainly.

I don't hate Darlo, I never have. I used to go to Feethams in the mid-90s to watch your home games when we were away. I think to myself how lucky my club is that in the 80s and 90s, although we were in precarious financial situation a lot of those years, we somehow survived.

Your club's situation, 3 administrations, the complete LACK of co-operation from your town's council (we have that problem with our council), Harvey Madden clearly the worst possible administrator you could have. A lot has been spoken about "togetherness" in the town and that has to continue. I'm proud of the Aycliffe and Middlesbrough bucket collections, the £8000 that was raised before the Barrow game. Your council has to realise that without a football club, your town loses it's identity so to speak, potentially losing out to financial investment, jobs etc. I'm very disappointed that my club has failed to help, certainly I fully expect bucket collections at our home game with Carlisle, which I am sure their fans would participate in, and I hope Nick Loughlin, the Hartlepool Utd correspondent can forward this to my club's hierachy.

Houghton, Reynolds, Singh, whoever can buy you a bit of time is better than nothing. As a football fan, a consortium led by somebody like a Quaker's legend such as Kevan Smith would be the best option. Beggars can't be choosers. It is time now and most urgently to put pressure on the Council, and say, "Do you want a football club or not?" If so, then STUFF the bloody covenants that are preventing anything being done on that land. Singh might be still there as chairman if the Council budged, and all this stupid mess might not be happening. Where are the Supporters' Trust, they have £50k? You guys' deserve better, and I sincerely mean that. Maybe a mass protest outside Council premises is your next option if there is enough time?

The Council refused concerts ,car boots restaurants ,computer/antique fairs etc anything at all to help sustain the the club "THEY REFUSED"
Most clubs including Man United use every business opportunity they can to get extra revenue into their club..
You can not run a football club on only 6 hours a month which the Council enforced it to do!... The blame for the clubs failure to survive no doubt what so ever lays at the Council's door..
Why do we vote these imbeciles in?
The Council have brought national shame on the town....

Is this a joke, or is someone taking the p**s even, that's all we need is 'Hangman' Houghton talking to the administrators, for him to take over at the helm again, all he needs to do is walk though the door, and they should say no straight away, they always say you should never go back, and in this case that is so true, plus 9 failed business out of 12, one of which being our football club, is not a good track record and gamble to take again ever, mind you he has since denied he has talked to the administrators, mind you he could be pulling another fast one, with somebody's leg, as this is the bloke, who denied all knowledge of the £1.7m debt he owed to 'The Sleuths' Sizer and Scott, and made 'Shoestring' Singh pay for it instead, because they never discussed a 'gentleman's aggreement' "apparently!"
