FOOTBALL fans will get the chance to quiz members of their clubs new regime including its manager and chairman.

Darlington FC's new boss Colin Todd and chairman-elect Raj Singh will be among the panel at a fans' forum next month.

Mr Singh has decided to reintroduce the once-popular forums to try to re-connect with Quakers' supporters as part of his attempts to increase the club's fanbase.

Mr Singh is still in the process of completing his takeover of the club. However by the time of the forum, on August 3, he hopes to have completed the deal and for the club to be out of administration.

He will be joined by his managing director Graham Fordy and club's commercial director Christine Balford. Mr Todds assistant and star player Dean Windass will also be present.

The forum, which starts at 7.30pm, in the Ron Greener Lounge of The Northern Echo Darlington Arena will hopefully be the first of a series of forums this season.

Mr Singh said: "I've already said the most important thing I need to do is to listen and connect with the clubs supporters, and this will be just one way of doing that.

"We're aware that the club used to hold these events in previous years and that they were very popular, and its one of the things they want us to bring back."

Mr Todd said: "I'm looking forward to meeting some of our fans face-to-ace for the first time in this kind of environment.

"I'm sure they all have a lot of questions and we will, of course, do our best to answer all of them.

"In my experience, the best thing any football club can do is to be open, honest and available to question."

Anyone who wishes to attend should contact the club on 01325-387000.
