DARLINGTON have five games to repair their faltering season and rediscover some good form, says manager Martin Gray.

Last week’s home defeat to Nuneaton Town means his team have won only once in their past eight league fixtures, a run that has seen Darlington drop from second place to sixth.

Tomorrow Quakers take on Gloucester City, who had lost six in a row before beating bottom-of-the-table Altrincham, and Gray said: “I’m asking a bit more from everybody now.

“The next five games are crucial to the season.

“If we come out of these five games with what I expect to then we will give ourselves a great chance.

“Play-offs are the target. You’ve got to be realistic, I can’t see Fylde doing a Blyth Spartans.”

Quakers were last night awaiting the formalities to be completed on two new signings: a goalkeeper on a permanent transfer and a striker on loan.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that Darlington’s AGM takes place on January 27.

Shareholders will be asked to vote on the re-appointment of the directors, the change of playing name back to “Darlington”, if approved by the FA, while the formal accounts to the end of June 2016 will also be tabled.
