HUNDREDS of Darlington supporters were unable to attend Saturday’s play-off final win, despite Bamber Bridge being unable to sell all of their tickets.
Segregation was implemented and the Lancashire club, who had an average home attendance this season of 240, requested 300 tickets.
But they sold only 180, while Darlington’s 1,700 allocation was sold out by Thursday evening, leaving many disappointed at missing out on the occasion at Heritage Park, which has a capacity of 2,004.
The day’s attendance was 1,876, which was 111 less than it was for the semi-final with Spennymoor Town last week.
The all-seated stand in Brig’s section of Heritage Park was virtually empty, but Quakers were unable to sell tickets on the day of the game as they had agreed with “all parties” last week not to do so.
A small number of supporters watched the game from over the Heritage Park perimeter fence and were permitted entry in the final five minutes of the match, which Darlington won 2-0.
