DEAN Windass will feature in this afternoon’s Hartlepool United game – but for opponents Oldham and not Pools.

Chris Turner twice spoke to the Hull striker this week in the hope of sealing a switch to Victoria Park.

But, as expected, when Windass announced on Tuesday that he could leave Hull, a clutch of other clubs entered the race for his services.

He is to sign for the Latics on loan initially, and, if the game passes a 10.15am pitch inspection, will line up against Pools at Boundary Park.

Caretaker manager Turner revealed: “I spoke to Dean Windass twice this week and wanted to get something done quite quickly.

“We are making enquiries around the country with different clubs and different players.

“We have got a shortage of strikers and that's something we are trying to resolve.’’ Kevin Kyle, the former Sunderland striker who has returned to Coventry after three months on loan at Victoria Park, is set to team up with ex-Pools boss Danny Wilson at Swindon.

Wilson wants to take the striker, who has no future at the Ricoh Arena, on loan again, after he bagged five goals in 15 games for Pools.

Bristol City striker Lee Trundle has joined Leeds on a month-long loan deal.

Trundle has made just four starts for the Robins this season and will move to Elland Road until February 9 in order to gain first-team football.

Carlisle have completed the signing of Preston winger Joe Anyinsah for an undisclosed fee. The 24-year-old, who has been on loan at Brighton, has penned an 18-month deal.
