MIDDLESBROUGH have revealed their new home and away kits for the 2016-17 season - and the designs have immediately caused quite a stir amongst the club's fans.
The new home kit features a return of the popular white band - but instead of being in the centre of the shirt, as was the case with Jack Charlton's promotion winners, the band is at the bottom, below the sponsors' logo.
The red home shirt, which is manufactured by Adidas, also features a blue trim, which is unusual for Boro's home kit design.
The new away shirt is described as "indigo" and features an "indigo and bright cyan chevron". The Boro crest is also in bright cyan, with navy shorts which also featured a cyan crest.
The new home kit went on exclusive sale to season card holders at the Riverside club store this morning, with a general sale starting tomorrow. Existing 2015-16 season card holders can pre-order the new away kit instore.
The club store will be open from 9am to 7pm today, with children and youth sizes priced at £38-45 and adult shirts priced £48.
HOW TWITTER REACTED:
Love the away kit but the home is just awful, the band in such an odd position and the blue is a definite no #boro

The home kit might grow on me, but I just think how hard is it to stick a band across the chest? Love the away kit like 😍 #Boro #UTB

Home kit looks far better on, I'll give it that. Probably a grower. Big fan of the away kit mind #boro

Why is everyone hating the home kit because the white band is in a different place at least the white band is back on the shirt #Boro

I will admit that a horizontal white band or plain red would have been my favoured design, but I know I'll get used to the new #Boro kit.

Strong reactions to the #Boro home kit. Does look like a reject offering from some TeamGB design...! Also with inexplicable blue trim
