Yorkshire look to be closing in on victory in the LV=County Championship against Worcestershire.

An excellent all-round bowling display has reduced their hosts to 135 for eight at tea on day three at New Road.

It means they are only 53 runs ahead of the Tykes.

Three wickets apiece for Steven Patterson and Adil Rashid, and two from Ryan Sidebottom did the damage during an explosive afternoon session.

Worcestershire resumed on 20 for none after lunch, but James Cameron was the first to go for only 11 when he was trapped lbw by Sidebottom.

Patterson then ousted Daryl Mitchell in the same way for 28, before Sidebottom returned to remove Vikram Solanki for 12.

That left the hosts on 53 for three, before Rashid was brought into the attack. He was soon celebrating as well, with Adam Lyth taking two catches to remove Moeen Ali and Matt Pardoe cheaply.

Then, after Patterson got rid of Gareth Andrew, for a duck, and the dangerous Alexei Kervezee for 52, Rashid ousted Damien Wright for nought with the last ball before tea.

It means Worcestershire look like setting the Tykes a small victory target at some stage today. Ben Cox, on two, will be joined by Alan Richardson when play resumes after the interval.
