An unbeaten 177 from Gerard Brophy has put Yorkshire into a commanding position in their LV=County Championship clash with Worcestershire.

It has helped the Tykes to a 62-run lead at lunch on day three, with their hosts on 20 for none in their second-innings.

Yorkshire resumed the day two runs behind Worcestershire's first-innings total, on 284 for seven, with Ryan Sidebottom at Brophy at the crease.

Together, they had added 129 runs for the seventh wicket on day two, rescuing Yorkshire from 155 for seven.

That partnership was extended to 149 runs, before Sidebottom was eventually removed for a career-best score of 62.

Steven Patterson, who made ten, and Moin Ashraf then came to the crease though to provide Brophy with more important late support.

It helped Yorkshire add 64 runs for the last two wickets; before Ashraf was ousted for a 19-ball duck to see the Tykes close on 368.

That was an innings lead of 82, before Worcestershire's two openers survived a tricky spell to reach lunch unscathed.

James Cameron is on ten, with Daryl Mitchell on nine.
