GRAEME STORM is right in the mix at Wentworth after making an impressive start at Wentworth.
The South Africa Open champion is nicely placed in the top five after shooting a fine four-under 68 which included a stunning front nine at the BMW PGA Championship.
Storm covered the front nine in 30, just a shot outside the tournament record set last year by Masters champion Danny Willett and equalled by eventual winner Chris Wood.
He birdied the tenth too to move to six under and claim into a two-shot lead before a double-bogey on the 11th halted his progress. Birdies at 12 and 17 were evened out by the bogeys at 15 and 16.
That meant he will head into Friday’s second round looking to close the gap, with Swede Johan Carlsson. Francesco Molinari, Scott Jamieson and Kiradech Aphibanrat a shot clear of Storm.
