STUART HALL has been told by IBF bantamweight champion Lee Haskins that he can have a shot at reclaiming the world title but he should expect to be knocked out if they meet later this summer.

Haskins delivered a warning to the Darlington boxer when he took time out from a training session ahead of his defence of the strap against Mexico’s Ivan Morales on May 14 in Cardiff.

Provided the Bristolian wins that contest he will face Hall in the summer, when the pair will renew an old rivalry dating back to 2012 when Haskins won a European title decider at Clevedon.

Hall is the mandatory challenger to the winner of the Haskins-Morales fight after outpointing Mexican Rodrigo Guerrero in a final eliminator in Leeds last month.

“I'm glad he beat Guerrero, because I want to shut him up once and for all," said Haskins. "He's been talking a load of BS, but there'll be nowhere for him to hide when I beat Morales and he has to fight me again.

"I beat him comfortably on points last time, but after the things he has said about me, I'm going to knock him out next time.

"You can tell him that from me. I'm sending him a message. I thought he was a bit fortunate to win the other week, but I was pleased that he got the verdict, because I want the re-match so badly.

"No disrespect to Ivan Morales, who is a good fighter, but it's the thought of getting back in the ring with Stuart Hall that is motivating me for this next fight.”

Hall had warmed up for his last fight by suggesting he was desperate to show Haskins his real talent after feeling like he did not hit top gear when they entered the ring together four years ago.

Hall said: “He said he played with me the last time – well let’s see if he fancies playing with me again.

“Hopefully, I’ll get a shot at him next, and if I do, there’s only going to be one winner. I didn’t fight for the first four or five rounds last time we met, and after that, I thought I was more than a match for him.

“I’ve won world titles and all sorts since then. I’m a completely different fighter now, and if he’s willing to take me on, I’d end up being a world champion again. I’ll give him the shock of his life.”
