PHIL JEFFRIES will return to the promotional scene this weekend with the 'Cream of the Crop' show at Rainton Meadows Arena.

The show will feature some of the region’s best talent, including Glenn Foot who will be warming up for an English title shot early next year and both Ward brothers.

Darlington's Neil Hepper is also on the bill, and will be looking to use his fight as a stepping stone to bigger and better things in the New Year. That could well mean a big fight, on home soil, come 2015.

You’ve also got several more of Jeffries’ fighters appearing like Jonson McClumpha and Thomas Essomba, with the reputation that surrounds Martin and Tommy Ward speaking for itself.

Promoter Jeffries said: "I’m not worried about anything at all for this, in fact I’ve probably been the most relaxed I have been for any of my previous shows.

"Now, I’m expecting big things for all my fighters and there are definitely some big fights on the horizon for them all with no real surprises. As for this, the biggest buzz for me is the two Thomas’, Ward and Essomba. Both will be fighting six rounders, as will most of the card, and they’re all ready to go now because the sparring that they’ve all had has been unreal.”

Looking into the future, Jeffries has already got his 2015 shows mapped out, including looking at next year’s Summer Rumble at the Stadium of Light.

He added: “There is going to be a local title derby with one of my new signings on my next show in March, which will again be at Rainton Meadows and will be a good build-up for the Rumble.

“That is already in for the Stadium of Light for July 5 next summer and I’ll be having at least Tommy (Ward) and Kirk (Goodings) fighting for titles. In fact, I want the whole show to have my lads fighting for a title of some sort on it.”

This weekend's show, entitled ‘Cream of the Crop,’ takes place at the Rainton Meadows Arena on Sunday 30 November, doors opening at 12.30pm, with tickets starting at £30.
