Friendly: Bruce
STEVE Bruce, the former Sunderland boss, will make a North-East return in August when he brings his new Hull City side to Hartlepool United.
Pools will meet the Tigers on Saturday, August 4 - two weeks before the Football League season starts and a week before Pools' Capital One Cup trip to Crewe.
Pools also meet Sunderland (July 27) and Middlesbrough at home (July 31) in pre-season.
Bruce, sacked as Sunderland boss in November, was earlier this month appointed Hull boss. Last summer, his Sunderland side travelled to Victoria Park to face Pools in Ritchie Humphreys' testimonial match.
