TITUS BRAMBLE makes a return to the Sunderland defence for this afternoon's vital Premier League match for Manchester United.

United know they must better Manchester City's result at the Etihad Stadium against QPR if they are to overtake their city rivals at the top of the table.

Bramble - who has been missing through injury and off-the-field problems - will make his first appearance for the Black Cats since December on the final day of the campaign. Matt Kilgallon misses out.

There is also a return to the team for David Vaughan, for injured captain Lee Cattermole, and Fraizer Campbell.

Campbell's return means Ji Dong-Won drops back down to the bench following last Sunday's defeat at Fulham. Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner, meanwhile, is not even on the bench ahead of his return to Arsenal after his loan.

Sir Alex Ferguson has named an attacking line-up at the Stadium of Light. United will play with Wayne Rooney, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young as a three-pronged attack.

Sunderland: Mignolet; O'Shea, Turner, Bramble, Bardsley; Gardner, Colback, Vaughan, McClean; Sessegnon, Campbell. Subs: Westwood (gk), Meyler, Ji, Elmohamady, Kyrgiakos, Wickham, Bridge.

Manchester United (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Jones, Evans, Ferdinand, Evra; Carrick, Scholes; Valencia, Giggs, Young; Rooney. Subs: Amos (gk), Owen, Berbatov, Park, Hernandez, Nani, Rafael.
