After more than 2,000 people attended the inaugural Drifting event at the South Tees Motorsport Park in March, the sport returns to the venue on Bank Holiday Monday, May 7.

Drifting is a motorsport where cars are driven sideways at high speed, with the aim of keeping to a line instructed by the event judges.

The Teesside circuit is popular with both drivers and spectators as it is fast and flowing, while the high grass banking allows the whole track to be seen from any spot.

Circuit boss Bob Pope said: "We staged the Northern Drifting Championship for our inaugural event and it was a massive success. So this time we have attracted drivers from all over the country.

"Our track has something for every style of driving and spectators are in for another excellent day of spectacular sporting entertainment."

Admission will be £10 for adults with accompanied children under 16 free. Further details are available on 01642 231117.
