HARTLEPOOL have released seven players following the end of the League One season.

Julian Cherel, Ben Clark, Mark Cook, Ritchie Jones, Alan Power, Jonny Rowell and Matty Tymon have all been told they will become free agents once their current contracts expire next month.

Pools boss Chris Turner has, however, taken up the option of extending five players' contracts by another year.

James Brown, Sam Collins, Billy Greulich, Ritchie Humphreys and Antony Sweeney will all remain at Victoria Park next season.

Turner has also offered a professional contract to youngsters Billy Blackford, Paul Johnson, Callum Martin and Dylan Purvis.
