ENGLAND captain Andrew Strauss was snubbed in the International Cricket Council’s player of the year awards.

Strauss, 32, was shortlisted for both the main cricketer of the year award and the Test player of the year but was overlooked despite a phenomenal personal return and leading England to Ashes glory.
