GRAHAM Onions was overlooked for the emerging player of the year award at the International Cricket Council annual dinner.
Durham fast bowler Onions made the four-man shortlist but was pipped by Australia's Peter Siddle who took 49 Test wickets in the 12-month qualification period.
"Getting my baggy green in India and to represent my country is a great honour and something I dreamed of as a young kid," said Siddle.
New Zealand, meanwhile, claimed the spirit of cricket award in the second category of the night.
