JON ANDRE Fredriksen last night ended his career in Norway – and today heads for Hartlepool United. The left winger played 62 minutes on his farewell appearance for Sarpsborg in their 2-2 draw with Sogndal. Pools are reported to have paid just £8,000 for his services.
Chris Turner and his squad last night flew to Holland for a weeklong training camp and tonight play their first game against SV Volendam in Heiloo. Fredriksen could join up ahead of Wednesday’s game.
Willie Boland hasn’t travelled, instead he’s at Lilleshall this week to recover from knee ligament damage. He is out of contract, but still training with Pools and Turner will make a decision on his future in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Turner has admitted that Rune Lange is unlikely to return to the club.
The Norwegian striker damaged a shoulder in his third appearance last term and won’t be fit to play until the end of next month.
