1144: Captain Andrew Strauss (17) gets a thin top edge to a short, fairly wide delivery from off-spinner Nathan Hauritz and Brad Haddin makes no mistake behind the stumps.

1225: Matt Prior (14) attempts a late cut from a Hauritz delivery which turned outside off-stump, but is beaten by the bounce and Michael Clarke takes a neat catch low to his right at slip. England 70 for five.
1436: Andrew Flintoff (26) fails to read a change of line from Mitchell Johnson and prods weakly to Ricky Ponting, who takes his 150th Test catch low at second slip. England 127 for six.
1545: Stuart Broad (14) comprehensively bowled lbw by a ball from Hauritz which pitches on off, skids through and rattles his kneeroll.

1549: Paul Collingwood gives the Cardiff crowd something to cheer by completing a hard-fought halfcentury with a single through mid-wicket off the bowling of Peter Siddle.
1730: Graeme Swann (31) plays across the line attempting a pull shot to a straight delivery on middle-andoff from Hilfenhaus and is trapped plumb lbw. England 221 for eight.
1801: Collingwood’s brave resistance finally comes to an end on 74 when when he gets a thick outside edge to a Siddle delivery with the ball flying to Mike Hussey in the gully.
England 233 for nine.
1817: James Anderson’s streaky boundary moves England into a one-run lead. An added significance is that two overs are taken off the day’s play should Australia bat again.
England 240 for nine.
1841: Anderson and Monty Panesar emerge as unlikely heroes with a partnership of 69 deliveries and 19 runs as England scrape a draw. They finish on 252 for nine.
