DURHAM will mark their return to the top-flight of the County Championship with a home game against Hampshire.

The fixtures for the 2024 season were released this morning, and see Durham back in Division One of the Championship after an eight-year absence following their Division Two title success this summer.

Ryan Campbell’s side will entertain Hampshire at Seat Unique Riverside for a four-day game that starts on Friday, April 5, the opening week of Championship fixtures across the country.

Durham’s first top-flight away game takes them to New Road to take on Worcestershire a week later, with the game starting on Friday, April 19, before they return to Chester-le-Street to host Essex on April 26.

Durham will play six Championship matches before the end of May, at which point attention will shift to the Vitality Blast, with two four-day games scheduled for late June, when they will travel to Essex and host Worcestershire.

There is then another break for the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, with the County Championship season concluding with a run of five matches between mid-August and the end of September.

Durham’s final Championship away game takes them to the Oval to face Surrey on September 17, with the season concluding with a home fixture against Kent that starts on Thursday, September 26.

The T20 Blast will see Durham play 14 group matches between the end of May and early July, with their opening game pitting them against Lancashire at Old Trafford on Thursday, May 30.

Durham’s first T20 home game sees them host Birmingham Bears the following evening (May 31), with the home game against Yorkshire scheduled for Friday, June 21. The reverse fixture at Headingley will take place on July 11.

The group stage of the One-Day Cup takes place between mid-July and mid-August, with Durham playing four home and four away matches. They start with a trip to Sedbergh School to face Lancashire on July 24 and end with a home game against Derbyshire on August 14.

The finals day of the Vitality Blast will be staged at Edgbaston on September 14, while the final of the One-Day Cup will take place at Trent Bridge on September 22.
