Yorkshire have completed the signing from Sussex of Pakistan fast bowler Rana Naved-ul-Hasan as their overseas player on a two-year contract.

The deal is subject to 29-year-old Naved making a full recovery from the shoulder dislocation he suffered recently when chasing a ball into the boundary boards during Sussex's Championship match with Durham at Riverside.

Yorkshire's director of cricket, Martyn Moxon, welcomed the signing and said Naved was expected to make a full recovery from his injury in about six weeks' time.

Naved, who has played in nine Tests and 60 one-day internationals for Pakistan, has been with Sussex in each of their last two Championship-winning seasons.

He is well used to conditions in Yorkshire, having spent a successful spell with Pudsey Congs in the Bradford League.

He was recommended to the county club at the time but nothing came of it.

Jacques Rudolph received two major awards at Yorkshire's end-of-season dinner at Headingley Carnegie last night.

The South African batsman was named player of the year and he also came top of the players' n player of the year poll.

In his first season with Yorkshire, Rudolph emerged as his team's heaviest scorer both in the Championship (1,054 runs) and limited-overs matches (587).

He has two years still to run on his contract and he is expected to commit himself to an even longer future with the club.

Adil Rashid received Yorkshire's young player of the year award and the fielder of the year award went to Richard Pyrah.

Guest speaker at the dinner was former England footballer and Leeds United manager, Peter Reid.
