MIDDLESBROUGH last night agreed a £2.5m fee with Charlton for defender Luke Young.
The England international was at Boro's training ground yesterday and is expected to become Gareth Southgate's third permanent signing of the summer within the next 48 hours.
Young follows the arrivals of Jonathan Woodgate from Real Madrid, Tuncay Sanli from Fenerbahce and Jeremie Aliadiere from Arsenal.
