MICHAEL CHOPRA has signed a four-year contract at Sunderland, after passing a medical at the Academy of Light this morning.
The former Newcastle United striker has now completed a £5m switch from Cardiff City, who have made a £4.5m profit on the player within a year.
It is understood the 23-year-old arrived in the North-East on Thursday night, after breaking away from Cardiff's pre-season training camp in Lisbon, Portugal.
It did not take Chopra long to agree terms with Sunderland and manager Roy Keane has landed his third signing of the summer.
The former England Under-21 international follows Russell Anderson and Greg Halford to the Stadium of Light and he takes Keane's summer spending to £9m.
