SUNDERLAND (4-4-2):

6 Pickford: Wasn’t one of the goalkeeper’s better games, but he remains one of the few players able to hold their head high this season

6 Love: Produced a fine goalline clearance to deny King and tested Boruc with a reasonable long-range effort in the second half

4 Kone: Has been a major disappointment all season and completely lost King as Sunderland conceded the goal that sent them down

5 O’Shea: Age has caught up with him this season, and he struggled to keep tabs on the lively, energetic King

5 Manquillo: Has come back into the side in the last few weeks, but has not looked especially comfortable

5 Borini: Tested Boruc with a swerving first-half effort, but has to go down as one of Sunderland’s most disappointing players this term

6 NDONG: The pick of Sunderland’s players once again – he will be one of the few players they are keen to hold on this summer

4 Pienaar: Completely anonymous, as he has been for the whole of his Sunderland career – a signing that has simply not worked

4 Khazri: Couldn’t repeat his eye-catching performance against West Ham – never looked like threatening the Bournnemouth goal

5 Anichebe: His physical strength gave Sunderland an ‘out ball’, but his recent displays have not matched his earlier promise

4 Defoe: Couldn’t blame a lack of the ball for once, but didn’t look sharp as he fluffed a series of half-chances

Subs:

6 Honeyman (for Pienaar, 55): Provided some energy and brightness – why hasn’t Moyes given his home-grown youngsters more of a chance?

(not used): Mannone (gk), Lescott, Djilobodji, Embleton, Gooch, Januzaj.

BOURNEMOUTH (4-4-2):

Boruc 7; A Smith 6, S Cook 6, Francis 6, Daniels 8; Fraser 7, L Cook 6, Arter 6, Pugh 6 (Mousset 82); Afobe 6 (Stanislas 57, 5), KING 8.

Subs (not used): Allsop (gk), B Smith, Mings, Ibe, Gradel.

Man Of The Match: JOSHUA KING – The Bournemouth striker boasted the kind of confidence and clinical goal threat that has been lacking in the Sunderland ranks all season.
