Spennymoor Town 1 Corby Town 0.
Spennymoor moved into seventh place in the EvoStik League with a single goal win over Corby Town at the Brewery Field.
Moors had most of the chances in the game, and their failure to do so encouraged Corby, who nearly snatched a point.
Moors took the lead on 11 minutes, when the ball was threaded through in a breakaway for Nathan Fisher, who coolly rounded the keeper and slotted the ball home.
Fisher then had another effort blocked, and Graeme Armstrong had a penalty shout turned down.
Armstrong then made a good run and set up Fisher, but his effort was cleared off the line, then Mark Anderson had a goal disallowed for offside. Fisher was then inches off target with another effort, then he and Armstrong both struck the post in quick succession.
Corby recovered, and nearly equalised from a corner that Armstrong hit against his own crossbar as he attempted to clear. But Moors kept going, and sub David Dowson was the next Moors striker to have a shot cleared off the line.
