MIDDLESBROUGH youngster Harry Chapman has joined League One side Barnsley on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 18-year-old, who is regarded as the brightest prospect amongst Boro's emerging crop of academy stars, will spend the rest of the campaign at Oakwell and could make his debut for the South Yorkshire side in tomorrow's game at Crewe.

A product of the Rockliffe Park academy, Chapman has featured primarily for Boro's Under-21s side this season, but also played a part in the Under-19s UEFA Youth League run that ended with this week's defeat at the hands of Paris Saint Germain.

The midfielder starred in the early rounds of the competition and scored a stunning individual goal against Torino at the Riverside in November.

This will be the his first loan spell away from Boro, and he joins fellow academy graduates Bradley Fewster, Adam Jackson, Bradley Halliday and Andre Bennett in gaining senior experience elsewhere.
