Farsley 1 Spennymoor 1

Spennymoor manager Jason Ainsley believes that his team’s 1-1 draw at Farsley on Saturday is a good result.

Farsley are third bottom of the table with only one win in eleven games this season, but Ainsley said; “Farsley are in a false position. They’re a good side with some decent individuals. That could turn out to be a good point for us, because Farsley caused us problems. Our aim has always been to draw our away games and win our games at the Brewery Field.

“We were woeful in the first half, but in the second half we were a lot better. We must start games better than we did on Saturday.”

Moors, who are still unbeaten after ten games, started sluggishly, and went behind after just four minutes when Lewis Nightingale curled an excellent shot into the top corner of the net from the edge of the box, and it could have been much worse if keeper Dan Lowson hadn’t pulled off two good saves from Paul Walker and Leon Osbourne.

Moors bounced back to level on 17 minutes when Andrew Stephenson crossed for Liam Henderson to score from close range.

Moors slowly got on top, and after Shane Henry just missed the target, Gavin Cogdon struck the bar from the edge of the box.

Lowson pulled off another good save at the start of the second half, while Glen Taylor headed straight at the Farsley keeper.

Walker just headed wide for Farsley in the closing stages, while Taylor broke through at the other end, but shot straight at the keeper.

Moors are fourth in the table, five points behind third placed Warrington with two games in hand.
