DURHAM will hand 24-year-old Cumbrian batsman Graham Clark the chance to make an impact in their final three group games in the NatWest T20 Blast.

Calum MacLeod is unavailable because of Scotland duty in the ICC World T20 qualifiers, so Clark will take his place at No 3 in the order.

In his second year on a development contract, he has yet to make his first-class debut and in two T20 appearances this season he has scored five and none not out.

“Graham has had some success at the top of the order in white ball cricket for the second team,” said Lewis. “So to send him in at No 3 as a direct replacement for Calum would be the least disruptive thing to do.”

Lewis feels tonight's match is make-or-break for both sides, saying: “Whoever loses will pretty much be out of contention for the quarter-finals. But victory could give the winners the momentum to go through.

“The group is quite tight – there are a lot of teams with similar records, so whoever finishes with a run of wins can go through. We have to aim to go to Northampton for our last match still in contention.”

When Durham won their home clash with Yorkshire by six runs they had won three of their first four. But they have since won only two out of seven to slip out of the top four.

In the first game under Durham's new floodlights, Keaton Jennings' rarely-used medium pace turned the game when Jonny Bairstow Bairstow and Glenn Maxwell hit across straight balls.

But ultimately the difference lay in the last over of each innings with John Hastings involved in both. He hit Tim Bresnan's last four balls for three fours and a six as 21 came off the over, then bowled the final over with Yorkshire needing 21.

Bresnan had his chance of revenge with 12 needed off two balls, but he missed the first before hitting the last high over mid-wicket.
