BETH Hepple’s two goals in two first-half minutes set Durham on their way to a dominant victory over London Bees at The Hive.

Hepple’s low drive put the Wildcats ahead, and they were two goals to the good after she turned in Julie Nelson’s low cross after 16 minutes.

Second-half strikes from Durham’s top scorer Amelia Pereira and debutant Jess Havelock ensured a comfortable four-goal margin.

The victory is Durham’s second of the season, while London Bees are still looking for their first victory with just two points from their first four games.

The visitors took the lead on 14 minutes when Jordan Atkinson’s lay-off from a Jennifer Jennings cross allowed Hepple to strike low into the bottom corner.

Durham went further in front two minutes later when a corner was well recycled by centre-back Nelson, allowing Hepple to score her second from three yards out.

Durham went three up when Pereira curled in a brilliant effort from 25 yards for her fourth goal in four games.

And Havelock made it 4-0 with 13 minutes remaining when her half-volley following a deep corner was deflected home.

The Bees struggled to keep possession throughout, rarely testing Helen Alderson in the Durham goal with the away side’s direct attacking play proving too much for them.
