CLOSE HOUSE’S Chris Paisley is nicely placed at the Trophee Hassan after two solid rounds in Morocco.
While Hartlepool’s Graeme Storm suffered further disappointment and missed the cut after a dreadful back nine in Agadir, Paisley is going strong.
After Thursday’s opening round 71 he posted a two-under 70 to climb to three-under for the tournament and he is just three off the leading pack, which saw Spaniard Rafa Cabrera-Bello reach the clubhouse first on six-under.
Paisley had a flawless second round. After birdies at five and six, he eagled the tenth before making two further birdies at 14 and 17.
Storm, though, had a disastrous day and will return to the North-East still wondering how things went so badly wrong.
After Thursday’s first round 74, he powered his way up the leaderboard and in to the top ten courtesy of six birdies when he reached the turn.
But then he double bogeyed the second and seventh, while he also bogeyed the fourth, sixth and eighth to drop below the cut mark.
