Spennymoor Town are hoping to beat Bamber Bridge for the second time in a week when they face each other in the league at the Brewery Field on Saturday afternoon.

Moors beat their Lancashire opponents 3-1 in the FA Trophy last week to set them up for a home tie with Leek Town in the second qualifying round next Saturday, and now they want to make up for lost ground after narrowly losing to Darlington in midweek.

Manager Jason Ainsley was heartened by his side’s attacking second half display against Quakers, and said; “I thought we did very well the other night, but it’s going to be another hard game against Bamber Bridge. We beat them last week in the Trophy, but it isn’t guaranteed that we’ll beat them in the league.”

Top scorer Liam Henderson is definitely out because of the suspension collected in the Telford FA cup tie, while another striker, Gavin Cogdon, is struggling with a hamstring injury. Full back Kallum Griffiths and midfielder Shane Henry will both have fitness tests.

Meanwhile, midfielder Keith Graydon, who scored an unforgettable winner in the 2013 Vase final at Wembley, has ended his stay at the Brewery Field by joining Northern League club Morpeth in search of regular first team football. Ainsley said; “He will be a legend at the club forever.”
