DURHAM were unable to take a wicket in the hour’s play this morning before rain arrived. It lasted only a few minutes, but by then the square had been covered in sheeting and it was decided to take lunch at 12.15.
Warwickshire have progressed to 113 for one, 88 behind, although how Varun Chopra survived an lbw appeal from Chris Rushworth only umpire Rob Bailey knows.
The home captain was on 51 when, half forward, he was rapped by a full-length ball. Rushworth was aghast at the lack of a raised finger.
In the next over left-hander Will Porterfield shouldered arms to a ball from Varun Aaron which missed his off stump by a whisker.
