SUNDERLAND expect to complete the signing of Argentine goalkeeper Oscar Ustari today.
He has joined in time to be available for tomorrow's Capital One Cup semi-final second leg at Manchester United.
The goalkeeper becomes Sunderland's second signing in as many days having yesterday announced the arrival of defender Santiago Vergini.
Ustari rescinded his contract with Almeria having grown frustrated with his lack of playing time at the Spanish club.
The 27-year-old joined Almeria from Boca Juniors on a two-year contract last summer, but has been reserve to Esteban Suarez, playing only in cup games.
Sunderland have been looking for a goalkeeper as cover for the injured Keiren Westwood.
The Irish international recently underwent shoulder surgery, and while the problem is not believed to be as serious as first feared, he is unlikely to be available for at least another couple of months.
