NORTHERN Echo readers are continuing to capture the region’s distinctive character on camera as they compete to win £1,000.
The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle has teamed up with the newspaper’s publisher, Newsquest, to launch a competition to celebrate its exhibition, Only in England.
The exhibition features photographs by Tony Ray-Jones and Martin Parr. Both captured English traditions and eccentricities unique to their time, and the museum hopes people will capture images that represent the character of the North today.
Entries are already flooding in and others who wish to enter should complete a form on the museum’s website and email their image to onlyinthenorth@thebowesmuseum.org.uk before April 23.
There are three categories: 11 years and under, 12 to 17 years and 18 years and over. The winner of the latter will receive £1,000, and the two runners up in this category, as well as the other category winners, will receive an Impossible camera.
