THE London Paralympics are an enormous success.
I thought nothing would top the feel good factor of the Olympics but the fantastic achievements of our Paralympians, led by swimmer Ellie Simmonds and wheelchair racer Hannah Cockroft, have done exactly that.
It takes dedication, time and perseverance to achieve a gold medal. Watching their efforts is a truly humbling experience.
The Games have turned Britain from a nation of cynics to a nation of flag-waving sports lovers.
It is a shame that so many of the international broadcasters have packed up and gone home.
A shame, too, that Channel Four is unable to match the BBC for the breadth of its coverage – although I am now pleased to see that more air time is to be given over to it.
