NO, I’m not referring to the controversial erotic book but to the footpaths in Hamsterley Drive, Crook .
Durham County Council in its wisdom has decided to re-surface one side of the street and leave the other side. Hence one side is an even charcoal grey colour and the other side is various shades of grey and in poor condition.
I’ve heard a rumour that the council could only budget for one side to be re-surfaced with the other side to be done at a later date.
Surely it would have been more cost effective to do both sides at the same time when materials, equipment and manpower were on site.
Never mind, I might have the last laugh. By the time the council gets around to resurfacing my side of the street, the other side might well be 50 shades of grey.
John Glasper, Crook.
