MY daughter starts primary school in September.
I put down three choices of schools – two are near to where we live and one is a little bit further away.
I could not believe it when I received a letter saying my daughter had been allocated a school which I hadn’t selected.
The reason? Because it is a five minute walk away.
The school in question has been in special measures for three years.
I plan to appeal but we are still waiting for the correct forms.
In the meantime I have accepted a school which is four miles away because, if I don’t win the appeal, my daughter has no school.
None of my choices are currently open to me.
It will cost me a fortune to get my daughter to school and we will be worried she won’t make it in time for class on a morning as the traffic can be bad.
