MY company sends pallets of refurbished cast iron radiators around the country, mainly to private houses,.

During the Olympics, however, we will struggle to complete any orders for customers in the London area. Apparently all deliveries during so-called “lock down” periods have to go via the logistics company UPS.

This will incur an extra £45 handling fee and £60 security fee on top of the current charges.

Outside of lock down periods our regular haulier can do the deliveries.

However, if the address is within a designated area the delivery can only be done during the night at an extra charge of £75. I cannot see many of our customers sitting up all night awaiting delivery of their radiators. There will be no timed deliveries during the period of the games and all parking tickets incurred will be charged to us.

So Vince Cable, how do you suggest we grow our business with this type of hindrance?

Anyone who thinks we are geographically far enough away from the Olympics for it not to have a detrimental impact on our lives and businesses should read the small print.
