CAN any reader throw light on what happened to William Wordsworth’s socks, an exhibit in the late, lamented Darlington Museum?

The late Alan Myers’ literary guide to the North-East recounts their existence and it would be of interest to know their current whereabouts.

Were they perhaps returned to the Wordsworth Museum?

And what, indeed, happened to the other exhibits so wilfully dispersed by the museum’s closure?
