WHEN Britain had an empire and controlled much of the world, we were beaten by the Afghans with heavy losses of servicemen.

The Russian Army spent ten years trying to subdue the Afghans and eventually had to pull out, again after heavy losses.

Why don’t our politicians read and take note of what history tells us? The Afghans are a warrior race with fierce war lords who usually battle among themselves for control of the many areas that make up Afghanistan.

However, when an outside power tries to impose control on them, they band together to get rid of the foreigner. They do not wear uniforms, they are expert guerrilla fighters and they will defeat the Americans and British forces.

So, as an ex-serviceman, I say bring our brave boys and girls home now.
