AT a time when every penny is needed to save Darlington Football Club we seem to have a group of people (Darlington Supporters Trust) who seem hell-bent on hanging on to funds that were donated by myself and many thousands to keep DFC afloat (Echo, Mar 23).

They have managed to sit through two previous administrations without parting with a penny and now, when the very existence of the club is in danger, they refuse to help.

Perhaps someone would come forward and tell us who they are,who elected them and on whose authority do they hold these funds?

A lot of work went into raising the £40,000 that they hold and I, for one, donated a large amount.

If ever there was a time to use the money, surely this is it.

DFC 1883 have answered all the questions posed by fans, how much longer should we await the trust’s response?

It is time to put up. This is not the trust’s money it belongs to DFC and was donated by the supporters who want to see the club survive.

If the club folds, where will the money go?

Ken Tait, Darlington.
