THE forthcoming Olympic Games are a monstrous waste of money which could be better spent. I couldn’t give a flying fig if they go ahead or not.
That aside, I find the suggestion that they are sidelined by a period of civil disobedience, as suggested by the leader of the Unite union, Len McCluskey, to be not only abhorrent but subversive.
To incite civil disobedience is to incite violence. Comrade Len should have his collar felt and be detained for such a preposterous suggestion.
Once again union leaders try their arm at intimidation. This time, however, they not only risk national comfort but national security.
I recognise that the Labour Party and its supporters will sit on their hands on this one, Unite being the largest donor to the party. However, members of trades unions must acknowledge the powder keg that is in danger of being lit with this call.
