THE debate on a new airport in the South-East of England makes me wonder if the owners of Teesside Airport (I refuse to call it Durham Tees Valley) have thought of the options open to them?
Teesside has a runway which can take the world’s biggest aircraft, an uncongested approach over the sea and the few nearby population centres, a transport hub and excellent freight and handling potential, with room for expansion.
So come on Teesside forget about the North/South divide and make the most of the magnificent potential you have on your hands.
