WE cannot afford to give away £9.7bn in foreign aid. It is unbelievable that we borrow money to give away to other countries.

IN Americia, 40 per cent of the wealth is owned by one per cent of the population. Taxation for the rich is quite lenient and the brunt falls on middle-income earners. The UK is not dissimilar.

Perhaps the public should reconsider the caution it has shown to the trades unions fighting pension and job cuts.

We cannot just sit back and do nothing.
