YET another correspondent has written to Hear All Sides regarding the totally unfair Barnett Formula (HAS, March 23).
Given the total indifference shown by North-East MPs towards changing the system of diverting funds from the North- East to Scotland, I believe that a new course of action would work.
I propose that the Barnett Formula be applied to the pay, expenses and allowances of MPs for English constituencies. If they got less than their counterparts in Scotland I believe things would soon change.
The people of the North-East might feel some benefit for the millions of pounds in taxes they fork out to keep MPs in pampered, privileged, protected luxury.
