WATCHING the BBC news on Monday I drew two conclusions from the furore surrounding Prince Andrew.

Firstly, in the same way that I have no interest in two fleas on a dog’s back, I have no interest in who a person I consider a social parasite spends his time with.

And secondly, Vince Cable informed us that Andrew did good work for Britain. Putting aside that Andrew belongs to a class which owns the UK and has a vested interest, is Mr Cable really telling us that hardheaded businessmen invest in the UK because of glad-handing by an elderly wealthy person?

Investments are made for one reason alone – to accrue profit and for no other reason.
