I WRITE to register a deep feeling of dissatisfaction with Darlington Borough Council.

My wife is a regular user of the car park opposite Marks and Spencer in the town. She always arrives early and parks in the same space to avoid other users bumping her car. This space is next to a wedge-shaped area that is not a parking space.

Recently, she arrived back at her car to find a parking ticket for £60 because, so the ticket said, she had parked with her wheels overlapping an adjacent bay. This is unfair and disproportionate.

I’m afraid it has soured our feelings towards shopping in the town and in future we will not do so, but will instead take our business to Teesside Park. The council is thus causing more harm with its ridiculous and greedy policies.
