RE Roland Bramham’s letter (HAS, Sept 27) about the Black Rat Rideout of motorcyclists through Richmondshire to raise funds for the charitable branch of the 4th Mechanized Brigade, known as the Black Rats.
As one of the bikers who took part in the event, it is we bikers who would like to thank all the residents of Catterick, Richmond, Skeeby and anyone else along the route for turning out.
The support they showed for what we were doing was overwhelming, many standing out in the rain for a long time waving, cheering and donating via the collecting boxes.
Thank you all – and most of all, thanks to all the brave boys and girls based at Catterick.
