I WOULD like to offer my sincere thanks to a man and two ladies who all came to my assistance at the top of North Road, Durham City, on Tuesday this week.

My wife had just been thrown headfirst from her wheelchair after the front wheels hit an obstacle in the pavement and was badly shaken and dazed because of the incident.

All three strangers were extremely helpful and considerate and offered support until the ambulance arrived to take over her support.

Unfortunately, I did not get their names at the time, so please publish my letter as a token of my wife’s appreciation.

Norman Walker, East Rainton, Tyne and Wear.
