I NOTE that there have been a number of letters in Hear All Sides which have tried to imply that the BNP is an ordinary mainstream political party, which is neither racist nor violent.
Yet, there is news this week that the BNP’s head of publicity, Mark Collett, has been sacked by the party and questioned by the police for allegedly threatening to kill the BNP leader Nick Griffin.
This raises two major concerns in my mind.
Firstly, one has to ask why Mark Collett was in the position of head of publicity in the first place?
Secondly, can anybody honestly imagine any truly democratic British mainstream political party where a senior member would be arrested for allegedly threatening to kill the leader?
This story is surely very disturbing to all who want to live in a decent society.
